Gun Case for bringing two O/U on air travel?

I am thinking about bringing two O/U on air travel. I will only bring one barrel for each gun and I hope I can fit everything into 1 checked bag.
I already have a Pelican 1720. It is very good for holding 1 gun case inside but I won't be able to fit 2 gun cases inside.
Should I have the form in Pelican cut and have both guns directly in the Pelican or I should buy a 2-gun case and have the 2-gun case inside the Pelican?
Does anyone have experience putting 2 gun cases inside the Pelican? is there enough space?
I have a pro sport K80 with 32 inches barrel and a low rib Browning with 30 inches barrel.

You might be able to buy two Boyt single gun soft cases, and then place both gun cases into your Pelican case. Pull out all the foam out of the Pelican case, and back some clothing around key spots on the soft cases. The Boyt soft cases have padding in key spots too. You may run into extra charges for weight as well. But I expect it would be cheaper than paying full price for two legal weight Pelican cases??? Then, once your at your shooting club, you have two soft cases to carry around both of your shotguns. Leave the Pelican in your Hotel room. Good Luck to Ya. break em all jeff

Both the K80 and the Browning are great guns with significant lengths, so I get the challenge you're facing with the Pelican 1720. From my experience, getting a custom foam cut for your Pelican to fit both guns might be the most secure option. That way, you can ensure both are snug and safe. Plus, it'll save you from buying another case, making it cost-effective in the long run.
By the way, if you're doing a lot of flying for trapshooting events, you might want to check out deals on business class flights. They have discounted rates, and the extra space and baggage allowance can be super helpful when you're bringing along equipment like O/Us.
