What is wrong with the Multiple Business Websites?

One of my clients(Concrete Contractor) has a website to sell their services. The interested person contact and my client gets the job. The client is thinking about expanding business and Increasing the Operation Area. He asked about setting up another website with different name but same business name. Personally I told him not to do this because it will decrease the probability of him getting that particular client as they see Multiple websites.

What are you views about Multiple Websites ?

I am not support it. Multiple websites are a lot of extra time and effort with no gains. It will create some problem i think.
1. Customer confusion and concern
2. Maintenance and updates
3. Try entering the same business more than once, with the same contact details. I’ve got a feeling it might not be there for long.

Having multiple websites for your local business is a bad idea due to time and effort, duplicate content, search engine ranking which does not rise up easily, customers will have confusion with many website to same business. Therefore, to opt one website for one particular business is quite sufficient for the users for getting to know about your business.
