How to Build Business relations on Daily Basis?

I am a Marketing Guy and I am always looking to build some solid business relations with the people I meet in my day life. As people suggest that talking to new people about yourself and your work will help you build new business links. But sometimes it is hard to get in touch with new people on daily basis. For a solution to this problem i think speaking to people in public places like Public transport or any other kind of Public facility will actually help build relations. I try to talk with people when i am using a Public transport vehicle like Subway or a Bus, Talking to people in Restaurants and Bars is also helpful.

Please suggest me how to improve my skills and Not fall into awkward situations when Talking to total strangers? Because it happens a lot.

Giving them that out, rather than implying it, disarms people and gives them comfort. In other words, don't be overly demanding, and give them a chance to pass the buck to someone else, Pressuring someone to respond or follow through with a favor won't get you anywhere.
