How many antivirus can I use simultaneously?

Guys,

Is it safe to use more than one antivirus in one PC? I have asked to one of my friend who works in a IT firm about this and he told me that there will be no problem if you use two or more antivirus at a same time. But I am pretending that there will be a serious problem if we run two or more antivirus at a same time in a single PC.

What is your opinion regarding this issue?
