Why does "Gretsch-talk" think I'm behind a private proxy?

I don't have a Gretsch, and would like one as my next guitar. With this in mind I looked for a Gretsch forum - that didn't take long, it's at the bottom of the front page of "Strat-talk.com".
So I tried to sign up, and got the following message:
"You are behind private proxy, and we do not allow private proxy. If you believe this is an error, please send e-mail to us."
So I can get on Strat-talk without any problem, but not the sister site.
Can anyone help? I wasn't aware of A private proxy, but I did send AN email.
